Davy Evans - In Memory
As the weekend for the Davy Evans Memorial Cup approaches, may we take this opportunity to remember Davy. As reported in Motoring News on Thursday 3rd January 1985, we carry in full the obituary which was featured after his untimely passing. Rest In Peace Davy.
A Polite Clarification.........
Further to hearsay and rumour circulating in motorsport circles, we wish to clarify that at no time have we entertained the concept of reintroducing non timed events at Rosegreen, particularly judge based sports. Commonly, the main sport of concern would be ‘drifting’.
In simple terms, allow us to explain the subtle key difference:-
Drifting is a sport based on a judge(s) opinions against a drivers skill of performance and in no way is based on timed events i.e how speedily a vehicle can perform one lap or a particular specific distance.
We pride ourselves on hosting time events, by way of transponder via the world leading My Laps system, and this remains our continued route to further success.
Tipperary Motor Speedway wish to further clarify that we have no formal, nor informal, working relationship with any other motor sport promoter associated with the sport of drifting or otherwise known.
We sincerely hope this clarifies our position and look forward to sharing in each others’ continued success in the sport we are proud to be associated with.
